In America, there has been discrimination for decades. This discrimination began with slavery, African American people were looked at differently because of their race. Our people had to do what we were told we got whipped. Slavery became abolished after many years and then we had Jim Crow laws. There was still judgement because of the color of our skin. The way people view each other is inhumane and unfair. In 2017, we are still getting discriminated because of our race. In America, our president carries himself like a racist individual. Society is taught at a young age to be kind to others and treat them with respect. Discriminating someone because of the way they look, or their physical appearance is not okay. In the newer generation, a lot of people are mixed with different races. Judging someone on their race may offend more people than you think. Encouraging people instead of judging them will make for a happier life. We now have Donald Trump as president who can be perceived as racist, but that does not mean that we also have to be racist or discriminating our peers. We need to do better as a society and lift one another up. As a society we should take a moment out of each day and give someone a compliment. This may seem petty at first, but overtime it makes a change in our world. There might be a dramatically change in racists people if we all do this little action.
